Daily Scripture & Questions:
II Chronicles 10:1-12:16 The chronicler refers only to the history of the Northern Kingdom (Israel) as it impacts the Southern Kingdom (Judah). It is the people of Judah who are returning from exile for which the chronicler has compiled this history. Have you ever made the foolish choice of Rehoboam, that is to listen to friends instead of wise counselors? In chapter 11, we read of the faithful priests and Levites who don't succumb to Jeroboam's fake worship practices and move to Judah. In chapter 12, we can learn what from Rehoboam?
Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions:
Read II Chronicles 12:1-12. What did Rehoboam do wrong? Why did God grant some deliverance? Why not complete deliverance? Do you ever have to learn things the hard way?
Biblical Prayer Focus:
John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Rejoice in that the Word “pitched His tent” among us. Ask that we would reflect Him and be full of grace and truth. Pray for those you love who have not yet believed in the only Son and therefore do not yet have eternal life.
