Read: Numbers 14:1-15:41; Psalm 90 On what basis does Moses intercede for the people?  What lesson is there in the people's foolhardy attempt to get out of the consequences of their sins by "obeying a bit late" (see 14:39 ff)?  What is the sin of the high hand, and why is it so serious? How do we live wiser when the Lord teaches us to number our days?

Pray for those who feel overwhelmed and vastly outnumbered. In the circumstances of your life that you keep trying to come up with an answer to . . . stop for a moment and just look to the Lord. Ask the Spirit to quiet your heart and to fill you with trust.
