Daily Scripture & Questions:
Deuteronomy 21:1-23:25 The end of chapter 21 talks about the curse on a man who is hanged on a tree.  When we consider that none of us can keep the law perfectly, how amazing is it that Jesus (who did keep the law perfectly) was cursed and under God's wrath when He died on the cross for our sins!

Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions:
Read Deuteronomy 23:21-23 and Matthew 5:33-37.   Do these passages say the same thing or something different?  When you give your word, do people believe you?  When God gives His word, can we trust Him?

Biblical Prayer Focus:
James 5:16b-18
The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.

Remember the power of prayer. Ask the Lord to give you a prayer life like Elijah's.
