Daily Scripture & Question
Isaiah 40:1-43:28 God is greater than all the nations. As He unfolds history, He tells of one from the East (who we find out is Cyrus the Great, head of the Persian Empire). What is one reason that God tells us the future (41:25-26)? Sometimes Israel is identified as God's servant, but there is also an individual servant, Who we know as Jesus, that is being described in many of these passages. What will He be like?
Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions
Read Isaiah 40:12-31. What are some of the descriptions of the greatness of God? Does He know what we are going through (40:27 ff)? Who is it that finds their strength renewed (40:31)? How can you wait on the Lord today?
Biblical Prayer Focus
Psalm 85:4-7 Restore us again, O God of our salvation, and put away your indignation toward us! Will you be angry with us forever? Will you prolong your anger to all generations? Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you? Show us your steadfast love, O LORD, and grant us your salvation.
Pray for yourself or others who have been disciplined by the Lord. Ask that lessons would be learned and that joy might now be revived within.
