I Kings 10:1-11:43; II Chronicles 9:-31 Solomon had many great blessings, but he was also very foolish.  As you read I Kings 11, what was the foolish mistake he made that led him deeper and deeper into sin?  Note that the problems of his heart had been previously seen in chapters 3:1-3; 4:26, 28; 6:38-7:1; 10:26, 29.  Are you tempted to have a divided heart in some way?

Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions:
Read I Kings 11:1-8. Solomon was foolish and thought he could love others and not be led astray by their false gods. What does it say at the end of verse 2? What does verse 4 say the problem was? Do you have a divided heart? Who else are we supposed to love with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength?

Biblical Prayer Focus:
Psalm 116:12-14 What shall I render to the LORD for all his benefits to me? I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the LORD, I will pay my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people.

Thank the Lord for all his benefits. Exalt Him for the great salvation He provides. Ask for faithfulness in following through with the promises you've made to Him.
