Daily Scripture & Questions:
Psalm 3:1-4:8, 12:1-13:6, 28:19, 55:1-23 When you lie on your bed and ponder things, how can Psalm 4:4-5 instruct you? Are you tempted to speak flattery or even outright lies (see Psalm 12)? How do you handle people who speak peace but there is evil in their hearts (28:3, 55:21)? Entrust any sense of betrayal that you feel to the Lord Jesus who certainly understands what it is to be betrayed by a friend even as he was by Judas.
Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions:
Read Psalm 12. When are you tempted to speak lies, even "little" ones? Ask God to help you to have pure words.
Biblical Prayer Focus:
I Samuel 1:25-28a Then they slaughtered the bull, and they brought the child to Eli. And she said, “Oh, my lord! As you live, my lord, I am the woman who was standing here in your presence, praying to the LORD. For this child I prayed, and the LORD has granted me my petition that I made to him. Therefore I have lent him to the LORD. As long as he lives, he is lent to the LORD.”
Give thanks for the children in your life and re-dedicate them to the LORD. Ask that they would truly serve the Lord their entire lives. If you or a friend is struggling with infertility, share with God your heartache. Ask Him to give you the desire of your heart or to change that desire to match His. You may also want to call the elders to anoint you and pray for you.
