Daily Scripture & Questions

Isaiah 49:1-53:12 These chapters contain three more servant songs (49:1-13; 50:4-9; 52:13-53:12).  Rejoice with 49:6 that the servant wouldn't just raise up Israel, but he would also be a light to who else?  Rejoice that Jesus has the know-how to sustain the weary with a word (50:4).  The fourth servant song is made up of five sections of three verses each. Chapter 52:13-15 is an introduction.  Then note how 53:1-3 and 7-9 give us man's perspective on the servant.  The paragraphs in 4-6 and 10-12 give us God's point of view.
