Daily Scripture & Questions:
Proverbs 22:1-24:34 Remember, in terms of our chronological readings throughout the year, we are currently in Proverbs since many of them were written and collect by Solomon. As you look at today's passage, look at 22:17-24:22 and note that this section divides into 30 discrete teachings. Which of these are the top two that impact you as to where you are right now in your life? As you read 23:29-35, reflect on whether you know people who have many sorrows right now because of alcohol and drugs in their life. Pray that the Lord would help them to see their folly and to seek His help in conquering this besetting sin.
Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions:
Read Proverbs 22:6, 15; 23:13-14; 24:30-34. How does the section in Proverbs 24 repeat yesterday's key idea? What is the lesson in the sections of chapters 22 and 23? How do you respond when you are disciplined?
Biblical Prayer Focus:
John 17:20-21 I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
Seek with Jesus the heavenly Father, asking that your family and your church (and all Christians) might be truly one. Ask the Lord to send such a unity that the world around us would come to know that the Father sent the Son for their salvation.
