Daily Scripture & Questions:
Proverbs 4:1-6:35 Do you value wisdom?  Do you seek it with all your heart?  As you read chapters 5 and 6:20-35, are you being foolish in how you are guarding your marriage or purity as a single?  Are you trying to "carry fire next to your chest and not be burned" (6:27)?

Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions:
Read Proverbs 4:20-27. The heart in the Bible is not just one's emotions but it is the very center of one's life. It can be described as the seat of government of a person's whole being. How should we "keep our hearts with all vigilance"? Is there any crooked speech you need to put away?

Biblical Prayer Focus:
Luke 21:34-36 But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap. For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of the whole earth. But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.

Pray for the Lord's help in keeping watch, remembering the soon return of the Lord Jesus. Ask that He help you to not let your heart be weighed down with distractions. Seek His forgiveness if you have let the cares of life, or your attempts to escape the pain, to choke out your faith.
