Daily Scripture & Questions:
I Kings 15:25-16:34; II Chronicles 17:1-19 As we look at the evil kings of the Northern Kingdom (Israel), what sin do they all seem to have in common? What does it mean to walk in the sin of Jeroboam, son of Nebat? We also begin to read about Jehoshaphat. What made the early days of his rule a success?
Family Devotions—Scripture & Questions:
Read I Kings 15:25-30. Go back and read the prophecy of I Kings 14:1-16. Does anyone ever really get away with sinning or does the Lord ultimately hold us all to account? Are you trying to get away with it in some area of your life?
Biblical Prayer Focus:
Psalm 92:5-9 How great are your works, O LORD! Your thoughts are very deep! The stupid man cannot know; the fool cannot understand this: that though the wicked sprout like grass and all evildoers flourish, they are doomed to destruction forever; but you, O LORD, are on high forever. For behold, your enemies, O LORD, for behold, your enemies shall perish; all evildoers shall be scattered.
Express to God your confidence that He will win the day. Ask Him to help you not be stupid or foolish, but to discern what He is doing today in light of the day of the final victory.
