Ecclesiastes 7:1-12:13 Note how often the preacher reminds us that we can't really get it all figured out (for example, 8:16-17).  Also note the reminders that life is better with God.  Chapter 12 is the end of the matter.  What are his exhortations in this conclusion?

Read Ecclesiastes 12:1-8. This is a picture of what happens when a person gets old. What do you think some of the word pictures are talking about (like in verse 3, the grinders refer to teeth)? Since our lives are short and frail, what should we do (see verse 1 and 13-14)?

Colossians 1:11-12 May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.

Pray for the Spirit's empowerment, especially helping you to endure and be patient in the midst of the trials of life.
