Older women are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.
- Titus 2:3-5
A woman who opens her life and heart to another woman. In general, a mentor is older in age than the mentee but not necessarily. A mentor is further along on her spiritual journey. She shares what God has done in her life to encourage and assist a mentee in growing in her relationship with Jesus Christ.
What is a mentee? A mentee is a woman who desires encouragement, prayer, support, a listening ear as well as insight from another woman with more life experiences and wise advice when requested.
The primary goal of a mentorship program is for each woman’s relationship to deepen with Christ. Materials are available, "5 Aspects of Woman" by Barbara Mouser (a small group format with 3-4 ladies) and "God’s Woman" by Gary and Kathy deBock (a one-on-one format) to help in building these relationships. Each program requires a one year commitment meeting every other week. Events will be planned throughout the year through Trinity Women to help build these relationships.
There will be two opportunities to sign up and be matched:
May (with matching in June)
December (with matching in January)
Please fill out an interest form and watch for dates in the Loop and the Scoop for informational meetings in December and May.
We were gentle among you, like a nursing mother taking care of her own children. So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us. We exhorted each one of you and encouraged you and charged you to walk in a manner worthy of God, who calls you into his own kingdom and glory.
